I have been using mineral oil to remove my eye makeup. Then I started thinking about that. Mineral oil is not a plant based oil. It’s a petroleum based oil. Why am I putting that on my face?
After more thought, I decided to try coconut oil instead. I have it on hand for a few particular cooking needs anyway. So, I got just a little on my fingertips, then massaged it around my eyes and all over my face. Then I washed my face in warm water and soap.
All the eye makeup came off just fine. But the best thing is that now my skin feels very soft but not at all oily. Even my hands are soft!
Try it for yourself and tell me what you think.

I’m going to try this. I have some in the pantry. I wear mineral based powder makeup, so if I don’t remove it at night every now and then it doesn’t hurt my skin, but a fresh face feels so good.

Angie, I keep coconut oil in the bathroom all the time now. It really does feel so good on my face after I’ve removed my makeup with it.

You’re welcome, Linda. I like to use things that are more natural and the coconut oil certainly does make your face feel very nice!
