Recently, I bought a bottle of DaVinci Gourmet Vanilla Syrup. It’s sugarless, containing Splenda for its sweetener. I had hoped to use it in my iced coffee, since that was one of the uses on the label, and it was sold in the coffee aisle at the grocery store.
This is possibly the worst tasting syrup I’ve ever had. It’s like putting vanilla Chloraseptic in my coffee. It leaves an aftertaste and the taste while drinking my iced coffee is just awful.
I paid almost $4 for this 12 ounce bottle, and it was a complete waste of money.

Try Stevia. It’s the healhiest alternative to the mainstream sugar (sugarcane) and you need 1/4 of the usual “dosage” to sweeten anything.
Stevia is NOT Aspartame (atificial sweetener sometimes found in pharamcies for diabetics; uspected to be detrimental if used long-term; large doses of sweets containing aspartame will give consumers a laxative effect.)
Great blog you have here (found you while I was looking for information on teak wood)!!

Thanks for the tip! I will definitely be looking for stevia. I’ve heard of it but just never had the chance to try it yet.
