One of my favorite kitchen tools is actually my crock pot. This simple appliance makes it easy to prepare meals without having to stand over them, stirring and turning. I can place meat, vegetables, and seasonings in the crock pot, turn it on, and walk away, confident that in a few hours my food will be perfectly done and full of flavor.
My crock pot can be cooking my dinner while I’m away at work or at home, engaging in other activities such as crafts or playing on the playstation 3. I can make a shopping trip to town and leave the crock pot on while I’m gone. I don’t worry about the power usage because it uses so little electricity while it’s operating.
What is your favorite kitchen tool or appliance?

I’ve never had much luck with a crockpot, but I do love to cook and bake (although it’s difficult to find time to do either, what with working full time - you know how that is!) Anyway, I really like my cookware. I find that a nice set of cookware (pots and pans) really makes cooking a lot more pleasurable. I love my stoneware pans, too, as everything cooked on them comes out wonderfully. Lastly, I love my stove. It’s a flat-topped stove with two ovens underneath (a small one and a larger one). It is my “dream stove”, and I “made do” with a yucky half-broken stove for years until I could afford this one. I’d have to say those are my favourites in the kitchen (although I have lots and lots and lots of favourites in that room, LOL!).

I think I’ve had a crock pot forever. The first one I got was avocado green, if that tells you anything! The one I have now is six quarts and the crock comes out for washing. I’ve used it for main dishes, vegetables, dressing, and even desserts! Though, I do love to have the time at home and cook a “regular” meal on the stove. But yes, having the time is a whole ‘nuther problem!
