I have to agree with you regarding tomato sandwiches made from local tomatoes in season. Nothing quite so yummy, in my opinion!

You can save money using this recipe simply because a pack of tortillas will cost about the same as a 5 lb. sack of flour, and you can get a lot of tortillas from 5 lb. of flour! Plus, they’re extremely tender and delicious.

Lizzy, using up what’s in the freezer can make for some..interesting meals! It can also give you a chance to look up some new recipes using ingredients you already have on hand, thereby saving some grocery money.

I’m going to try this recipe. My DD likes tortillas, and so do we, so it will come in handy to have a recipe to make them as we need them. Otherwise, we buy a package, freeze it for when we need it (or freeze what we have left over), and then it ends up getting old or freezer burned and has to be tossed. I really dislike wasting food like that.

I have to start cooking from my freezer, too, Ann, since I have lots of stuff in there that I’ve had for a while, that I don’t want to go to waste. You’ve inspired me to get started on using up the stuff right now, instead of putting it off for “another day”.

Thanks for the great tips, Brett! I’ll be adding more pictures to the blog as I go along and get things set up just the way I want them. I am hoping to get a “real” video camera soon, since I haven’t been very successful in getting the video off my digital camera to load properly. I’m sure you’re right about missing some steps when writing that would certainly come through in a video. Too many times, I’ve had to edit recipes to include things that I just took for granted.
